Welcome!  I'm brand new too.  I'm in the Fairfield County area though.  You're a way's away.  Good luck!

Hi Hem,

I live in Trumbull, which is Bridgeport's neighboring town.  Bridgeport you have to be careful  They do not have great school system's and you really have to watch the neighborhoods you're looking to invest in.  Bridgeport does not have a great rep, but you can find great deals there and completely worth it, if in the right neighborhood.

Hope that helps.  If you have any questions, I'm happy to try and help out.

Thanks and good luck!

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Carissa and I live in Fairfield County, CT.  I've been interested in investing in vacation rental properties for about a year now, but always thought I had to have a lot of money to put down and get started, until about 3 months ago I started reading more about investing and saw that there are a number of way's to invest with little to no money.

I found a local real estate investor's networking group last month in Fairfield, that was awesome and they put me on to Bigger Pockets.  Since then, I have been reading as much as possible and I'm meeting with a RE investor who handles deals with wholesaling next week, so that I may learn from him and hopefully help him out in time.

I'm really interested in the wholesaling part of this industry, but rental properties are beginning to peak my interest.  I'm hoping to learn as much as possible, meet as many people in the industry that I can and hopefully get to work with and help others one day, once I get the hang of it.

A little background about myself:  I'm married with 2 awesome little boys, Jaxon - 2.5 yrs old and Carter - 6.5 mnths old.  I run my own travel agency from home, as well as facilitate a networking group 2x's a month in my home town of Trumbull called, The Breakfast Club.  So, life is very busy.  My husband owns a successful personal training and wellness business called, Born Ready Fitness, and he works a lot of hours.  My main goal in learning and getting into RE investing is so my husband doesn't have to work so much, we can travel more as a family and for my kids to have security as they get older, as well ourselves when we retire.  That is my motivation.

I can't wait to get started on my first property, but I have to tell you, as if all of you didn't already know, it's a little scary to think about when you have so much on the line if it doesn't work out.  But I keep reading and hearing that you won't lose money if you really know what you're doing, so I'm hoping to get to that point and then I guess take the leap.

Thank you.  I hope I can work with some of you in the future and anyone in my area, please reach out to me.  I would love to get together for coffee and chat more!  :)
