Hello all,

I’m in need of some help from the bigger pockets community. I am about to buy my first rental property and I’m telling my mortgage company that it is my primary residence so that I can put only 3% down instead of 20%. I am going to switch my taxes to non homestead so the city knows I am using the property as a rental. Will I run into any legal trouble? Has anyone else had a similar situation? Let me know.

Hello, if I were to purchase a home under a land contract with terms of 5 years and eventually I want to sell before the term is up, how would that work? Would I be able to get rid of the home if needed?

Hello, can anyone tell me the best sites to check the crime rates for a city?

This deal specifically is a land contract so the calculators will not work because there is no mortgage on the property and there is a balloon payment.

Hello BP Community, I am an 18 y/o in the Metro Detroit Area. I have about 5k that I can put towards a potential investment, although I cannot provide 2 years of income to a bank for a mortgage. I've done a lot of research and due diligence and have a pretty good idea of the business. I am also a licensed realtor, and I'm very eager to get into REI. I do not know anyone who can co-sign on a mortgage with me either. Please BP Community provide any advice as I'd love to chat.
