@Matt Boyle Thanks for the advice! I know there is a ton of great information on bp as well as on the podcast, which I enjoy listening to. I will continue to do some reading and studying so that when I'm ready to start investing hopefully but next fall, I know which direction I want to head.

@Account Closed Well I am interested in pursuing a career in financial/investment(non real estate) advising. I guess I am more so interested in passive income as I work my full-time job but would like REI to be my full-time job in the next 10-15 years. I think I would like to start sort of slower but scale up in 5-7 years.

Hey everyone,

I am currently a senior at Purdue University graduating May 2017 in Financial Counseling and Planning. I do not know where my full-time job will place me but I would like to get into real estate as soon as I can. Obviously, cash on hand is minimal as a recent grad.

I know house hacking is often emphasized as a good starting point for newbie investors, but I am curious what other strategies new people might have found starting off with little money. I do not necessarily want to be a hands-on landlord and would like to hear what you guys have to say in regards to saving up money as quickly as possible to put it into real estate.

I look forward to all your advice, thanks!

Hello everyone, I am currently a senior at Purdue University studying Financial Counseling and Planning. I came across the BP podcast a couple summers ago while mowing lawns and continue to listen to the podcasts today. I have always been interested in real estate as a way to grow wealth but do not really know where to get started, especially as a college student. I hope to begin investing within the first year after I graduate.

I look forward to hearing from everyone on here as I plan on being more active on the website as I near graduation and have a little more wiggle room for investing.
