Thank you, Steve. Good to know.

Call and email at least weekly. Sometimes more. Seems to be slugging along. Inconsistent and incomplete communication every step of the way.
I am in escrow on a home with multiple liens that nearly went into foreclosure. I have been in escrow since March 2020 and cannot get escrow to give me a final pay off. A few months ago they said our offer was short and that they were in contact with IRS regarding a short sale. The IRS requested the appraisal and inspection which we provided. We were scheduled to close Nov 2 and sent escrow a buyer/seller signed extension this week. No acknowledgment from Escrow. I've sent multiple requests asking for current pay off as interest is accruing daily. No response. Is no reply and escrow's inability to give pay off typical with difficult deals? I would think this number would be something escrow could easily provide as they have all the amounts owed and daily interest rates. Any advice?

We didn't have all the pay offs until this week. Thank you for the info. It's only my second house I ever bought.

Still working on it. Anyone know who to talk to for short sale offers at Wells Fargo? I want to be sure that the bank actually gets it.

The liens with interest exceed our offer. I STILL don't have exact pay offs from escrow in spite of dozens of requests by both me and the seller. But I contacted the primary lien holder's lawyer's directly though and so I know that combine balance owed (five lien holders) is more than the offer but still less than the appraisal (by about 10-12%). I'm wondering about how to go about proposing a short-sale? The lawyers for the primary lien holder said they would, but they wanted to know exactly how much their client would get and I can't answer that accurately since I can't get pay-offs from escrow. Any more advice? Appreciate the insights offered previously.

Thank you Peter. That was more information than I got by talking to three lawyers!

I called another Escrow company. They said they would have a hard time getting pay-offs from the IRS also, due to Covid-19.

Thank you for your insights. I am wondering what is involved in switching title companies?  The foreclosure has been delayed and we have been escrow since March.
