Is it possible to use a PO box as you company address when applying for a LLC??? The PA form strictly prohibits the use of a PO box as an address..
Thanks...
Since I am running my investment property, should I tell the tenants my full name?? I can use my cell phone number, my PO Box for my address, but how do I get around the name?? On paper it will be the LLC name, but to my tenants who do I present myself as?? Just say, hi I'm Todd?? If they have my last name can't they go online and get my personal address. Unless I can get my address unlisted somehow.
Thanks!!!
Thank you!!
Anyone know of any inexpensive/quick ways to set up an LLC properly????
Thanks!!
Thanks Mike. This is my first property, and it is currently titled in my name. Settlement isn't until April 13th, so I am hoping I have time to set up an LLC and get the property titled to the LLC instead of me personally. If that is even possible. The LLC would establish a name for my business. Can a PO Box address from my local post office be used as the address for the LLC?? I will also look into getting an unlisted number. Is it OK to give tenants our cell numbers?? Can I give the tenant my name?? Can't they just access the internet and get personal info that way as well?? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to cover all bases and get off to a good start.
Thanks again for any help!!!!
Thank you Greg for the information. I am paying CASH for the property, so financing is not an issue. I am assuming the biggest thing to consider for me will be the PA Real Estate Tax upon transfer. For that I guess I shall consult with my accountant. Is it possible for the LLC to be set up without the help of a lawyer? Do I need to have a company name? Ideally, I would like to have a company name & address set up within an LLC. The only thing I want the tenants to know is my first name. Or is this being overly protective. With access to the internet can't anyone find personal information on landlords?? Wouldn't a proper insurance policy with an umbrella policy afford the same level of protection????
Thanks in advance!!!!
Just went under contract with my first single family 5 BR row. I have some liability questions that I am really concerned about. Yes, I should have taken care of these issues before hand, but with this being an estate sale the price was right. Was on market for a week with 4 bidders(including me). So here are my questions: Can I transfer the property into a LLC after I make settlement. Can I use my name with a PO BOX for contact info, or is that pointless. No company name set up as of yet. I will have plenty of insurance set up, but I am hoping I didn't put myself behind the 8-ball on this first IP.
Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Can anyone recommend a GOOD screening service that can be done relatively quickly and affordable online for new tenants. Preferably one that includes criminal, credit, rental history. Again thanks in advance!
