@Eamonn McElroy Thanks for the response! And the property is in service It just has a few things that need to be fixed up I.E a door needs to be replaced, outside walls need to be painted, the floors need to be painted and sealed, I need to replace the countertop, and some touching up here and there. Also that’s good to hear about the gas thanks :)

I just bought a house that I’m planning on renting out but it has a few things I need/want to fix up. If I buy things like doors, wood, rocks and paint can I claim that on my taxes? Also my property is about 2 hours away from me can I claim the gas I pay for on my taxes as well?Finally, do y’all know of any good preferably free apps that I can scan my recipes and file them so it’s easier when it comes down to claiming everything I bought come tax season? Thanks In Advance!
