I appreciate your comment and it's a very valid point.  I had not thought about it from your perspective.   I had not thought about splitting my commission and what planning on doing it for 4 or 4.5%.  Yes I would be willing to split it with them if they helped me make flyers or whatever they could help do.  And yes just the grandkids get the proceeds.  Thank you

I have been a full time realtor since 2003.  I am the youngest of 4 children.  My dad recently passed away, leaving my oldest brother as the executor of the will.  My dad still lived in the home that I grew up in and left the house to his 12 grandchildren.  Being the only realtor in the family and the daughter, I just assumed that I would be the listing agent.  I was told yesterday that because the house is in a trust that the lawyer is requiring that my brother & the lawyer interview 3 agents, which i knew nothing about until yesterday.  I just assumed that I would be listing my father's home which was also my childhood home.  When my brother told me that it had NOT yet been decided that I will be the agent and that they are going to talk to other agents, I was extremely hurt and upset.  I feel like this is a slap in the face.  When I said something about this to another brother, he could not understand why I'm so upset.

So my question to everyone as a realtor and as the daughter, would anyone else have assumed that I would be the logical no question the listing agent?  Or am I taking this completely wrong?

I was told that I should treat this like any other real estate transaction and that's its just a house.  I feel offend and extremely.
