Hey guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I deffinately plan on purchasing a rehab for my first home. I can do pretty much anything cosmetic and I have close friends who do HVAC, plumbing, and tile/hardwood flooring. I also have an uncle who is a general contractor, so I'm pretty much set as far as labor goes.

I'm looking for a loan that would be applicable to my situation, which forum do you think that belongs in?

Ryan--WCRT seems like an invaluable organization for Chicago investors. I'm going to attend the meeting tomarrow and will be sure to introduce myself. Oh yeah and how about opening day for Chicago baseball? F-Dome hits a three run shot in his debut? Crazy! I'm a southsider though so we may end up being enemies untill the end of the season.

Hello BiggerPockets. My name is Garrett and I am excited to finally be a member of this wonderfull site. I have already learned alot just by reading the posts. I am 20 years old and attend the University of Illinois at Chicago. I pay the bills by painting/drywalling/installing and refinishing hardwood floors. I have been renting for two years now and am in the process of buying my first home. I have many questions about what type of loan I should use and am wondering where I should post such a question. After the acquisition of my home I plan on aquiring my first rental or rehab project. Any and all advise is greatly appreciated. Have a great day!
