Jim Carson thank you! Are these all online services? Or do they have physical offices?
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone on here is familiar with section 8. I'm in he process of buying my first duplex and one side is section 8. Is there a public office I have to register with or an online form? I have a ton of questions about it. Thanks ahead of time!

Thank you for everyone's input! Found out that the section 8 is also M2M, so hopefully it won't be a huge issue. I'm gonna proceed with the deal.

Hi! I am Christian criswell. I am from Northwest indiana. I joined a few months ago, but really just got into reading and listening to the podcasts. I just made my first offer on a duplex that I plan to house hack for a while, then possibly rent out both sides or sell depending on market. With that being said, they countered, and in their counter, they revealed that one unit (smaller of the two) is section 8. The smaller unit is the one I plan to occupy. My question is, am I stuck with section 8? Can I just get the current tenant out after their lease is over and move myself in? Does the section 8 lease have the same general guidelines as a traditional lease? My initial reaction was to get them out and get rid of section 8 ASAP. The. I realized, I know nothing about section 8. Is it worth keeping? Pros and cons? I'd be glad to provide more info if needed. And thank you ahead of time for any response!
