Jackson Pontsler good point on the lease agreement review by an attorney. Do you only flip or own rentals?

Dave, thanks for the feedback and it helps clear up my confusion due to articles here that suggest having a lawyer in your team which for my purposes is nor warranted. Thanks fir clarifying!

Jackson- thanks for the tip. Very helpful. One advice on BP is to have a real estate attorney lined up to be on your team. Any advice you can offer? I guess I’m a bit confused about what I would use an attorney for, to look over all contracts before I buy? I guess if they’re complicated such as a 1031 but if it’s routine, is it necessary? Again, I appreciate your input.

Hi, I’m just blown away by the tools, advice and generosity and rich community here on BP! I’m now beginning to learn about real estate investing and have gotten in touch with a real estate broker who I found here on BiggerPockets. Before seeing a property she sent paperwork that she wants me to sign in order for her to work with me. Is that typical? When I have looked at homes in the past with real estate agents (with me as a potential buyer), I do not recall being asked to sign an agreement. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi. I plan to purchase a rental property with a partner. We have yet to form the partnership. I'd appreciate any advice for the best way to limit liability as we embark on this adventure!

I'm looking for a realtor experienced in multi-family or a home converted into multi-family investment property in houston. I'll be investing money from a 1031 exchange. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!
