I wished I knew that it is not at all "passive" income when you are working in the STR space. We were successful and reached top 1 % of the properties within 3 months on Airbnb. But that came with the mindset of constantly innovating, personalizing...etc. Good luck! It is a fun space to be in if you enjoy the work of hospitality.

@Bernice Retzloff with hubby not into RE investing, the turnkey rentals sounds like a dream!

@Melissa Justice you got me at the turn key model! Thank you!
I do have DSCR in mind to tap into when the need arises. I just need to find a market with strong cash flow for the numbers to make sense.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! With help/connection from a good friend, I'm very blessed that this 4-unit deal I'm working on has a strong cash flow and property management already in place. I'm just not sure where I should look next and how to set up property management if I have no connections elsewhere.

Patience is a virture.  I scaled from 1 to 23 over 10 years in CT.  I can't get the numbers to work so I'm stuck right now.

Properties in CT is wayyy out of my reach at this point. That's why I would consider out of state investing.

Hello! I am a post COVID burnt-out healthcare worker looking for guidance on different strategies to scale my real estate portfolio. Having had some experience in owning a successful STR, I'm looking for something a little more "passive". I am currently working on my first cash deal on a 4 unit multi family property in PA. With the interest rate so high, what are some of the strategies I can consider to scale up my portfolio? Open to out of state investment but cant do any rehab or house hack with 2 young kids. TIA!
