I have recently come across a home in my area with fire damage that I would like to wholesale and would love some input. Anyone have tips for doing a proper assessment of such a property to avoid getting burned?

Side note: if anyone knows a general contractor who specializes in and/or is extremely familiar with this genre and is located in the Charleston, SC area I would love their contact information

Thank you!

@Michael King I didn’t actually end up buying for some of the reasons you talked about. The majority of the properties I found were either bad buys or gone before I could even think about making a move.

@Eric Jones currently looking into Atlanta, Charlotte, or Jacksonville areas, but I wouldn’t say that I have my heart set on these markets

@Todd Crippen thank you for the input, there are some things on this that I personally had not thought about.

@Caleb Heimsoth low maintenance is definitely one of the things I would be banking on if I went turnkey. Would you do it again, and if so would you use the same company?

@Kiera Underwood would you happen to know any of them in the Atlanta, Charlotte, or Jacksonville markets?

I’m currently active duty and want to get into real estate but my current schedule is pretty hectic and I would like to minimize the time I dedicate to a property (for the time being). Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on turnkey companies and/or great property managers in the southeast.
