Hey, I’m looking to connect with local real estate investors and have heard on the bigger pockets podcast that Local R.I.As are a great way to do so. Does anyone know of any in downstate Ny, specially the Westchester - NYC area?

Im planning on getting into wholesaling to pay off student loan debts and to raise capital to move into rentals. That being said does anyone have any information, advice, tips, or tricks on wholesaling in NY and the legalities thats are involved with it such as rules, regulations and the wording of contracts etc.? Anything helps!

@Steven Luttman Agreed! A nice place to live goes a long way with these students because most off-campus housing for them is in terrible condition.

@Alyssa Dyer Yes! With RPI being the main thing going for Troy I’d be looking at traditional student housing there. There also are a lot of medical student doing their residency in the area that are looking for SROs which is good for times such as now where student housing may not be doing as well.

@Tyler Bains Thanks so much for the response. Being you’re a realtor, would you know whether or not SROs are allowed in the areas surrounding those colleges?

@Steven Luttman Theres a few reasons why student housing has caught my attention but I’ll just say the main ones. I am a recent college graduate and I worked in a student housing apartment complex so I have a little bit of experience in it. Second is that my father
is currently already involved in student rentals so having his experience and connections is a plus and lastly I really want to be involved in SRO’s and assuming zoning allows for it, student rentals are great for that.
