@Keith Minton

This is not legal advice...just facts.  In Ohio you need a real estate sales license to manage properties (not owned by you) for a fee.  All real estate sales licensees must work through a licensed Ohio broker who has registered a legal real estate brokerage through the Ohio Division of Real Estate.  In Ohio, real estate transactions, in which agents are involved, must be overseen by a licensed Ohio broker.  The broker is responsible for the development of agency, the operations of the brokerage, the compliance with trust account(s), with advertising, with record keeping and with office requirements.  In addition, the broker will provide supervision to his/her team, pay commissions and assure no unlicensed person is performing a licensed activity.

I own a property management company in Ohio.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask.  You definitely want to stay out of trouble with the Division of Real Estate.

This may be a little late, but if you are still considering property management companies in the Cleveland area, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Roy Guy

Hello everyone!  My name is Roy Guy.  I recently opened a property management company near Cleveland and Akron.  Although I have done various things over the years, I have a passion for real estate.  As an investor, I have experienced first hand the triumphs and struggles of real estate investing.

I have been reading this forum for the past several years and have found mounds of useful information and helpful advice.  Hopefully I will be able to contribute in the same manner as a property manager.

Happy Investing to you all!
