Thanks @Rob Harris I'll send you a college request! It is only about 30ft to utilities (that are on the property) and tap/connection fees have already been paid! I was expecting closer to 8k (maybe slightly higher with grinder pump.) we have two other bids out that we should be getting back tomorrow hopefully with significantly lower estimates!

hey @Rob Harris thanks for the input! That is including all materials and labor. Supposedly no builder mark up (I'll get the written quote tomorrow.) I'll have to see the beam distance when I get to the house! Can I bug you for what you are putting $$wise into the plumbing of your similar sized homes? Excluding fixtures we have a quote of 14k which seems way high to me! That's two bathrooms.

Double vanity, shower, toilet in one, single vanity, Bath, and toilet in the other.

Kitchen sink with disposal, dish washer, and fridge ice maker plus grinder pump, and washer hookups.

Thanks again for the help!

@Jon Klaus Yes Sir, engineered by a reputable engineer in the central Texas area with inspection to be done before pour. It sounded fairly reasonable to me, but I appreciate the opinions of the more experienced developers such as yourself! Definitely helps ease the nerves on my first new build!

Good Evening everyone! At last I am finally getting started on my first new home build/investment, and am very excited! I have been waiting/ working towards this moment for a couple years now! First things first yes I am working with a professional builder, and yes I know "it depends!"

Here's what I got... I am starting a 1338 square foot 3 bed 2 bath two story home in Leander tx (78645) The first floor is 810 square foot plus 220 square foot carport and 121 square foot porch for a total of 1151 square foot on the first floor (slab.) The property is basically flat, fairly rocky soil in the area, and engineering has been done to call for #4 rebar at 12" on center with a 4" slab with beams ranging between 2-3 ft.

Now to the question... the builder that is helping me along the way got a quote of $13,000. Does this sound like a reasonable quote for a good quality slab, or is this overpriced? all educated opinions are greatly appreciated!
