Post: Bank mortgage Vs Private money lender

Good afternoon,
I’m currently looking to purchase my first investment property in the coming months. This will be my first investment property and I want to live on one side while renting out the other side. I have an excellent credit score. With interest rates being so high, I wanted to know if I should look to get approved for a mortgage at a traditional bank or a private money lender? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m location in NJ (if that’s makes a difference or not). Thanks in advance!
Brandon,
Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely take your advice on not worrying too much about the qualifications!
Good evening,
My name is Connor and I'm located in Hunterdon County New Jersey and will be graduating from Montclair State University this spring. With that being said, I'm eager to begin my career in the real estate field, particularly property management. I know in the near future I would like to start owning small multi-family properties. I recently finished up an internship at a real estate development company over the summer, have been reading a bunch of books about real estate, and listening to bigger pockets and videos and podcasts.
With that being said, I would appreciate any feedback I can get in regards to where/ how I should go about begging my career in real estate and property management. The only thing that I lack is experience, however, I just need a chance to advance my career in this field. I've been looking for entry-level property management positions on Linkedin and the other job recruiting websites, however, the experience is what I lack which eliminates me from almost all of the job openings. I'm willing to learn, hardworking, dedicated, and goal-oriented.
On a side note, I recently got a new phone and tried to download the BiggerPockets app on my phone, however, I couldn't find it on the app store. I was wondering if it's just my phone or if anyone else is having this issue.
Thanks for the help!

I’m planning on investing in summer 2021, as I graduate college in the spring, therefore I am trying to build my knowledge in real estate investing as much as I can before I execute an investment. Thank you for the feedback!
