I want to invest in small multifamily to start my investing journey. I've lived in the same spot my entire 20 years on this earth. One thing I'm struggling with is finding out the ins and out of my market. I feel like I should know these things by this point but I don't know where to start in terms of researching the area.

What are some methods you use to get a better grasp of a certain market?

Hello everyone, my name is Connor and I'm in the education/saving stage in my investing career. I live in a small town outside of Akron, OH where I currently work as a furniture delivery guy. I want to get a job in the real estate space so I can learn about the business while getting paid. I'm going to buy and hold long term residential multi family rental properties. My first home purchase I plan on house hacking a duplex. I first discovered BP when I heard the BP podcast. At the time I thought I wanted to be a real estate agent. I didn't know at the time but I just wanted to be in the real estate world. Thank you for taking the time to read! I will answer anyone and everyone!!

If I am going to house hack a duplex, should I let the tenant know I'm the landlord or act like the property manager ?
