Akash, be sure to do a cost/benefit analysis before getting your license and joining a local association. While these may offer tremendous benefits such as education and access to data, they may come at a high cost (varies from state to state) as Catherine mentioned. Many tend to be blindsided by this.

It seems to me that your main goal is to be an investor, leveraging on your market knowledge and access to the MLS. You don't have to be a realtor to accomplish this unless your goals are broader than you have highlighted. You can get these by making friends with a competent licensed realtor in your area who may be willing to share their access and knowledge in exchange for your business.

If you are looking for properties in the greater Houston area, feel free to use my MLS link below: https://members.har.com/mhf/search.cfm?cid=712551&...

Very best in your pursuits and let us know how it works out for you. Good luck!

Yours is truly an inspiring story. I appreciate you sharing your successes as well as your failures and I'm glad it's all coming together for you. Onward and upward!

Check out www.realtywitsgroup.com for access to the Houston area MLS. The website is loaded with a ton of links to foreclosure listings, new home listings, current listings, senior living listings etc.

Happy viewing!

Harrison,

Thanks for your review. I've been researching on which of the numerous property management software will best suit my business. Your review provides some directions.

Thanks!
