Sure thing, @Giang Nguyen! Happy to help. The cash back is definitely a huge plus. In the beginning when I first started out, I would go to about 8 meetings a month - which built my network immensely. These days, I'm a little bit more strapped for time with my business so I'll occasionally make the general meeting (or send someone from our staff in my place) but I usually switch off between the Chester County subgroup, the Montgomery County subgroup, and sometimes the Delco subgroup. Hope to see you at a meeting!

Best,

Dave

@Paul Vincent I agree with Wayne, who brings up a lot of good points. I think depending on the level of the investor attending, they're going to get something out of at least one of the 3 points Wayne mentioned if not all of them. Eddie's event is designed more for note buyers and fund investors, whereas the IMN residential mortgage conferences are geared more toward the sourcing side of the business (also valuable, just different).

I've been a featured speaker or panelist at Note Expo events in the past, and plan to be at this event as well. We love it because it's a centralized event where we get to connect with many of our note buyers and investors from all over.

Eddie knows how to put on a good show and gets a lot of great experts in one room. The events have always been well organized and well structured.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Dave

@Shepard Ager

The removing name idea could work or you could transfer ownership to a family trust.

Best of luck,

Dave

@Andrew Beltran

I would check out Bill Tan's group, LA REIA (based in San Diego)

Hi @Giang Nguyen

You may want to check out DIG, our local REIA chapter. Plenty of great Real Estate investors there to connect with in person, along with vendors, lenders, etc. Also they have great speakers and a multitude of sub-groups all over the Greater Philly area. I go to meetings myself, as do a lot of other investors here from BiggerPockets.

Also, if you're looking for another read on Real Estate tax strategies, you should definitely check out @Amanda Han's book here from BP: "Tax Strategies for the Savvy Real Estate Investor"

Anyway, welcome to the site! Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions I could help you with.

Best,

Dave

@Young Hwang Sure thing!

Btw, we are hosting a free Q&A call with a note friendly CPA on the 17th. Entity and tax questions like these would be great to hear on it. If you're interested, you can find more info here:

@Young Hwang

Yes it does hold true, you may have to register to do business in certain states though - depends where you're looking to buy and operating out of (some people form somewhere and operate somewhere else).

Best,

Dave
