Thanks for all the input. Here is some added info-- the 5 bedroom is NOT furnished, but costs about $60,000 more than the 4 bedroom pool cabin, but it IS furnished. Both homes are new builds by the way. Again, I appreciate all insight!

Hi everone. I am trying to decide either on a 5 bedroom chalet ( 3 ensuites) with great views and location vs a 4 bedroom pool cabin (4 ensuites)with nice views and good location.  Will the rent be similiar? The 5 bedroom is more money and both are new builds. I am torn since the views are what I think really helps increase rental rates, but the pool cabin will be unique and very nice.  I appreciate all input received!

Thank you guys for your responses! I am leaning towards my wife and I managing the property and any future properties. Kinda scary. Should I put my property on VRBO and Airbnb only, or should I put the property on the other booking platforms also? I am not sure what platform is utilized most in the Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge area. Do you have recommendations for specific automation tools that I would need to get started? Hello all. I hope everyone is staying healthy! I am in the medical field, so I am not as educated in the real estate area as you all. I am in process of building a vacation home/investment property in Gatlinburg, TN. The property will be in an overnight rental. My question is if I manage it myself, what are the best vacation rental platforms/sites to use (VRBO, airbnb, etc), and how many platforms to list my home on? Can I just list it on VRBO and be OK with occupancy rates? Should I have a rental company manage it and rent it initially till I learn how to do it myself? I am unsure if I should list it on as many sites as possible to optimize occupancy rate. As an example, if 90% of all rental bookings are from VRBO and airbnb, should I still add my property to more vacation rental sites? Thanks for your input!
