@Jade Jamison between BP, Youtube, and Podcasts there is endless education available to you.  I would exhaust these resources before paying someone for what is otherwise free.  Contact your Credit Card company and see if there is a way to cancel payment as it sounds like it was made in error.

@William White I would recommend checking out Buck Joffrey's website and signing up for his investor network.  Buck is a retired head and neck surgeon (age mid 40's) and is now a full-time investor/entrepreneur.  He has partnered up with Western Wealth Capital to offer multi-family syndications to those in his network .  I have participated in several and I only have good things to say.  https://www.wealthformulabanki...

@Marcella Marquez  I am in no way affiliated with Brandon Hall and the Real Estate CPA's, but I did meet with Brandon for a free 30min session about 2yrs ago.  I was very impressed.  He is just a normal guy with a large knowledge base on the finer points of real estate tax.  I dragged my feet on moving forward, but will circle back as my situation grows more complicated.  I currently only participate in multi-family syndications, so he did not have a lot to offer me at the time.  Here is the link incase you want to check them out: https://www.therealestatecpa.c...

@Carmen Dettloff  Your advice aligns with my research.  Thank you for confirming these findings.  The current offering in Carrollton, TX is an off-market deal with favorable terms.  I believe it will be a good investment.  The investor margins on profit are just a little thin.

I am considering investing in a Multifamily syndication deal with Ashcroft Capital.  Outside of their investor margins being a little thin, does anyone have any feedback they provide from personal experience or research they performed on Ashcroft?

@Eli Crognale  There is certainly greater risk in purchasing a property and banking on continued appreciation.  It is a game of musical chairs and eventually the music stops and someone is left without a seat.  If your property cash flows then you have nothing to worry about if the market turns and you are stuck with it for a while.  For these reasons, I would favor a cash flowing property given the situation you present.

@Eli Crognale the Phoenix market is extremely competitive right now.  I would try to leverage your brothers connections to land an off-market deal.  Between low interest rates and a new flood of CA investors, the market conditions are more challenging than seen in the recent past, but still doable if you are determined.  Sounds like you are comfortable purchasing for appreciation rather than cash flow, as that is largely what you will find.

@Srdjan Ilic.  I would recommend seeking out a reputable general contractor and structural engineer for the answer you are looking for.  While it will cost you a little cash, it is money well spent, as compared to the cost of repairs related to taking out a load bearing wall.
