Hi I am fairly new to investing. My wife and I are strongly considering investing in Toledo. My wife is from Toledo and owns a rental house in the 43615 zip code. She has gotten decent returns renting the house, but is considering selling. Currently, we live in Dallas, so our strategy is to buy and hold in the Dallas-Fort-Worth area, but the more we analyze deals the more attractive the Toledo market becomes. Is the 43615 a good neighborhood for buy and hold? Any insight into the Toledo rental market would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi BP,
I'm torn between using the VA loan ($0 down) to purchase a multi-family or a single-family home in Dallas. I am new to REI. My long term goals are to buy and hold. I've read several posts regarding the pros and cons of buying and living in multi-family homes. The idea of living in one of the units and renting out the other units seems to be the best option to fully leverage the VA loan. Does anyone have experience using the VA loan to purchase multi-family homes in the DFW area? I welcome advice and input from anyone willing to help. Thanks

Greetings,
My name is Derrich Phillips. I'm originally from Indiana. I've been living in Dallas since 2008. I'm an army veteran. My wife and I are new to real estate investing. Ultimately, we would like to become full-time real estate investors. My background is in IT security, and my wife's background is in marketing. I'm working on obtaining my real estate sales person license. We plan to jump into real estate investing by purchasing a multi-unit property within the next 3-4 months. Since I'll be using the VA loan, we plan to live in one of the units. I watched several BiggerPockets videos on youtube and decided to join. I look forward networking with investors and taking advantage of all of the educational resources that BiggerPockets has to offer.
