Post: Florida Tax Deed Auctions and Liens

There are a few homes in my county of the state of Florida that are going to tax deed auctions. One of the homes has over $36,000 worth of city liens on it. If I bid on that home and win, are the liens  expunged so to speak or would I be on the hook for them?

Also, another home appears to only have one lien of $250; however, it was foreclosed on. I am kind of confused on why it would have went to a tax deed auction and not a foreclosure auction. Can anyone shed any light on either of these questions...

    Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for your input. I'm still doing my research.

How would I obtain the title search? Can I conduct one myself by public records? I also was reading that there are unrecorded liens that title companies do not research, how would I research these unrecorded liens?

I am interested in investing in Tax Deeds, but I'm skeptical of the technicalities of it that I'm uneducated about. I've seen in other forums people posting to watch out for county liens, back property taxes, HOA debts, IRS liens, quiet title process etc.

My question is: how do I find all this information out? How do I find out if the property has county liens, back taxes, IRS liens etc... I am nervous about dropping money at an auction and later finding out I am SOL.

Also, after all the research I have done, it all says tax deeds are very state/county specific. I reside in Florida in Saint Lucie County, if anyone is familiar with this area I would love to hear from you!!

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! =]
