@Ali Boone,

Oh wow. Thanks for those helpful links.

@Chiwei C., it’s been a couple of years since you started your contract with Mid southern home buyers. Me and my husband are now in that same exact position, waitlisting.

It seems like everyone had great reviews on this company. Has your opinion changed since your post?

Also, I was flying and visiting the actual properties worth it?

Thanks, excited to hear from you.

@Taylor L. Thanks for the advice. We most likely want to do the turnkey route. But you’re so right about vetting the company. We’ll for sure be doing our due diligence.

My husband and I are seriously interested in buying property out of state and then renting it out.

However, my question is what’s better to do? Start with TurnKey properties or start from scratch (buying the property, renovating, setting up property management, etc).

Pros of turnkey:

-less work on us.

Cons of turnkey:

-less return

Pros of starting from scratch:

- more return

Cons from scratch:

-more work on us.

Is it better to start from scratch and learn the whole process? Or begin with a turnkey to play it safe? Any advice? What are the sort of questions I should be considering if doing a turnkey property?
