@Drew Sygit

Thanks for the tip

Thanks,
Dina

Hi Ryan (and Ryan's wife),

I am not located in Michigan, but I'm originally from there.  I am also hoping to get started in real estate investing this year (although I do not have any prior experience yet, am just trying to learn as much as I can right now).  I have also been thinking about doing my first investment in the Detroit area, since although I'm not located there, I'm somewhat familiar and the place where I live now is too expensive for my budget.

Anyhow best of luck, and if you're interested in maybe teaming up on a project together, let me know.  I would be open to a rental or flip or any other ideas, just to get started.

Dina

Thanks so much @Bram Spiero !  That's exactly what I was looking for.  Seems I have a LOT of reading to do!  :))))

So I'm curious how long have you all been in REI, how did you get started, and what is your specialty or favorite niche (if any)?

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome.  So happy there is such a thing as BP and happy I found it!

Hello everyone!

I'm brand new to BP, completely new to REI, and I live in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have been interested in real estate for years, always enjoy watching hgtv shows where they flip houses or even where people are purchasing a home, etc. but fairly recently started to look into a little more and pushing forward to actually expand my education. I've so far been listening to podcasts, but I think next I will purchase some books to begin reading up on different topics. I would like to learn more about no money down / wholesaling / any other areas of real estate that might be good for someone who is just getting started! It feels like a great big sea of information and I think just knowing where to start can be intimidating. Any suggestions on great books or places to start would be greatly appreciated.

Also I'd like to at some point, attend some meetings just to meet others and connect / network.  It would just be great to get to know some others who have been doing this for a while and can just give me any insight on what to expect or perhaps help point me in the right direction.  I am also thinking of started up some classes to be a real estate agent, even though I'm not so much interested in being an agent as in being an investor.  However, that might be a good place to start (not sure?) .  But I figured at least it would help educate me on the subject.

I am also going to school full time and working full time right now, neither related to real estate.

Great to meet everyone and looking forward to connecting with some others!
