Hi @Sam Soloman. I appreciate the reply. I do work a full-time job right now but man, I would love to meet with you and get a little bit of insight from you. Maybe we can get together over a weekend sometime soon or I'm not opposed to driving across the bay after work one night either. Just let me know. I will tell you though that this weekend will be my wife and my 1st wedding anniversary weekend, so its probably safe to say I won't be getting a hall pass...

Hello Bigger Pockets! Newbie REI from Florida here. I've been lurking around the site here for a few months now and figured I might as well introduce myself and take the plunge. My name is Ray. Like many others, I went to a seminar and got sold on the idea of real estate investing as a way of supplementing or even replacing my current income. Now, I didn't get sucked into spending the thousands upon thousands of dollars to take a guru's course, but I did come home and start to research on my own. Thankfully, I came across Bigger Pockets and like i said, I've been lurking around for months now.
I am looking for a few local investors who may be looking to mentor, work with, lead and guide a new investor who's eager to learn and willing to put in the work and sweat equity that's asked of me. I am currently working a full time job and am looking to maybe start investing part-time to begin with. I can assure you though, this is not a game for me. Nor is it a passing fancy. I am looking to walk away from my 9 to 5 and do this full-time in the very near future.
If there is anyone in the Tampa/St. Pete area that is willing to reach out to me, I'd be very interested in speaking with you and gaining a little wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Thanks for taking the time to read my Intro. I look forward to hearing from and interacting with you all!
