Thank you for the response and encouragement.  Florida is one of the markets I have been eyeing as well...  As I mentioned I'd prefer to invest locally to start, but the opportunities seem stronger in other places.  As I refine my search I may send some questions your way.  Best of luck!

Hello BP, my name is Dominic Reed.  I have minimal experience in real estate, other than my "owning" my current home in addition to a precon vacation home overseas.  I am originally from MN, but as an active duty military member I have called many places home throughout the years.  

I stumbled upon BP several months ago as I was doing some finance related reading/internet searching, but only recently joined the team. I have desired to own/create a business of some sort for a few years now, and also developed an interest in real estate during that time. Only recently did I accept real estate as an option after pushing myself to learn more. My near-term goal is to find a local property (preferably MFH) and get my first REI deal closed. Unfortunately, there is not an abundance of MFHs near me from what I have seen thus far. I am currently exploring financing options and aim to complete my first buy-and-hold purchase within the next 6 months.
