I've done short term leases in the past. You have to charge enough to make it worth your while.

My son is searching for a one bedroom apartment in close proximity to Colorado University. He is not interested in having a roommate or renting a room in a bigger apartment. Also, does anyone have a recommendation for an apartment locator service in the Boulder area?

I have heard of some investors buying an investment property and allowing son/daughter to live in house and rent out other bedrooms. How has this worked out for some of you? Is this a sound method when your children go off to college? Any advice/insight would be appreciated.
