Thanks Dave. I will look into this. Also, thanks for reminding me that success is a process. That helps to fight frustration.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your willingness to help. As I said, I am having trouble finding tax and property owner information.

The county websites are not very helpful. For example the wayne county tax assessor site links to a paid site which is not complete and in accurate. I am willing to pay, but I want good data.

The other issue is finding comps (ARV) in Detroit. I am using MLS. Is there another way of determining ARV.

I am working in the following Michigan markets (Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties). I have been driving-for-dollars and have a direct mail campaign going on.  The problem I am having is locating a reliable source to getting homeowner, taxes and legal descriptions for the properties. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

I my name is Donny Smith. I'm in the Detroit, MI market. I and my wife are newbie investors for about a year. Our focus has been on wholesaling. We have sent Direct Mail yellow letters. Have gotten a couple of nibbes, but no deals yet. On of the concerns I have is getting good comps. I have access to MLS through an agent. I have gathered comps for subject property. Not sure how acurate they are. Not able to get feed back from agent on how best to preform Comps. Should I look for a more investor friendly agent?
