Hi Will
So do/why investors invest in your/such areas. Is there a way they get something out of investing there?

Hi Lisa Cunningham

Welcome to BP.

glad to see a person from SC. See you joined here a day after I posted. Were you always here but not a member, or " new" to the site.
A mistake I made on the site was not introducing myself in the new introduction site here...didn't see the new member introduction here until later.May be you would want to do it.

Will send a PM/add as colleague to you and talk more soon.

"Is There Anybody Out There?" - from South Carolina? (Sorry Pink Floyd)

Searching BP for members from SC, seems hardly any active members from SC. Is there anyone here who at least operates in SC.?
As you can see from our profile, we are new at real estate business. Not got our feet wet yet. Reading up all we can in the multi-unit family and related sections.
But would like to get know local people here. If anyone based in /invest in SC, please give a shout.

Thanks

At least a thread containing the pearls of wisdom. would greatly benefit newbies like us with no generational/personal experience.

Kinda funny/coincidence. Was wondering about how long the real estate market would be a good buy with another BP member here.

As re strategy , the recession would be very helpful in my buy strategy.

Realize that this is an ole thread(found while looking at old posts), but my experience.

How I found this site: I have been a member of another website that deals with non real estate investments. Saw a member there recommend another website for real estate information - browsed that site, didn't like the forum set up at all, but was hooked on some questions - goggled it and arrived here.

Started going through the forums and articles and liked what i saw- if there was a teaser option of few pages , likely wouldn't have signed up. I however fully realize people are different, and what made me sign up would not hold for others.

As re questions, especially at the preparatory stage like I Am , I am hesitant to really post questions. Try to search related posts and find the answers. Even then when I was stuck have PM ed people here on BP for details. I have to say all those people here at BP were awesome , patient in answering my thoughts/questions. Even then the thoughts tend to be like "I Am taking these peoples time, how do i benefit them/ their business".

Just thought would lend an eye into the minds/thoughts of lurkers here.

Thanks to Joel Owens, Ned Carey, Darryl Dahlen, J Scott among others. Also thanks Joshua Dorkin for this great site.

Joshua Dorkin thats so sad- all those excellent articles lost due to insufficient use.
Probably not of use to veterans , but invaluable to us newbies.
I have taken to copy /paste on word with hyperlinks.

My limited experience in stocks , for long term investing (not trading) .

Learn,[ dont need/use a financial advisor(if needed use fee only)] ---> save

Assess your risk tolerance --> Decide asset allocation(know your tax brackets, know where to place bonds/international funds/us stock etc) --> make portfolio of index funds - -> dont listen to the noise(CNBC, etc) --> Rebalance.

Found this on a website , don't know if that helps.
But have a few qns - if you have a mortgage, deed of trust or mortgage that's filed against the property will remove any anonymity that one seeks.
Also don't know if mortgage companies would allow a land trust to hold the title.
More informed folks here would know.

Edit: duh found this link below, which might answer my own qn
