@Aaron Hall  still very early in the process, but have some contacts in the Louisville, KY area and possibly Las Vegas area. Seems like that could be a tough market though. -Dustin

@Kenneth Hynes and @Aaron Hall Thanks for the advice. I look forward to spending a lot of free time on this site. As far as real estate goes I think my best bet will be looking to the mainland for rental properties to start.

@James Syed and @James Wise Thanks for the welcome.

 Thanks for the welcome Ali. What airlines do you work for? I am on the same island where Kona is located but will be transferring to Oahu where Honolulu and such is. How long have you been into RE? Aloha

Welcome! Are you looking for on island rental opportunities or off island? Are you at HNL?

 @Joe Sillaman,

Thanks for the reply. I am currently at ITO (Hilo) but am getting transferred within the month. I will be renting my home here to start as I have already found trustful renters (I hope). As far as future opportunities I think my best bet will be to look off island in the mainland. I have a few contacts out there and the prices to start are much more reasonable.

Aloha everyone,

I am a 28 year old air traffic controller in Hawaii and real estate has always interested me. First timer on this site and am very impressed by the wealth of knowledge on here. I am mainly interested in rental properties to try and make an extra income and am eager to learn all I can before jumping in.  I am excited and nervous at the same time but after reading many forums already I think this site will help put me on the right track!
