Has anyone in this forum ever put up solar panels on a flipped property? What are the advantages and disadvantages when it comes to selling the house? Does it generate more buyers or sway them away because you're factoring that in the price of the house? Thanks in advance.

@Chivas Miho

That's funny I was just reading your post regarding long distance investing. Congrats on that!

Thank you so much for that informative feedback. Pretty much answered all of my questions. I do have cash reserve but I would rather invest w/ the equity I have on my rental property. Putting money to work.

Hello fellow investors,

My partners and I just started an LLC for home re-development aka house flipping.

Each of us will have equal shares, so monetary input.

We just landed our first deal through the MLS for 170k.

The question is:

I have a rental apartment for 5 years now and its appreciate went up to 100k. Am I able to take out a HELOC or lump sum of 80% of that 100k appreciation to put into the business to do a flip??? I own the property but only lived there for a year. What are the requirements to take an equity loan? Thanks in advance.

Post: 1098 and 1040 tax question

So complicated question... If me and my 2 partners set up an llc (declare to tax as pass through partnerships) for the sole purpose of flipping homes and assuming we each make a profit I’d 10k per year. Now we all have to file the self employment 1098 tax. We also have a Full time job, say making 100k each before tax, each liable for 33% tax on both state and federal combined. So my question is, on that capital gain of 10k, how much tax do we pay? The llc is a pass through entity, would the llc be taxed at all, assuming after we took out 10k each, the business has a net gain of $0.... Sorry it’s hard to put this question together...thanks for your help.
