@David Boatman
I bought a ‘95 911 about 5 years ago for a variety of reasons, including dream car. I have enjoyed it greatly - it's so fun to drive. I am selling it to do more REI. And I am ok with that for now. I get passionate these days about finding a deal and making our strategy work. My wife is really excited about REI. I feel blessed!

Hello - just checking to see if this event is on. If so, can you tell me more about the topic, if there is one?
Thank you.

I appreciate the response. I will check into Cozy. We did get a bookkeeper to help us get started. We need to get our books in shape for an upcoming refi. Sorry for the slow response - life is busy! Thx, Ed

This discussion is very relevant to me. I was considering something similar on 10 units (5 single story duplexes). I need to do some research on all the variables so I can buy right. Please keep us posted - I will follow.

Hello Janel - I recently joined BP and I'm just starting to use their website. I searched for people and companies in the Salem area and found you and Clockworks. I've been looking for a REIA in the valley - good news that you highlighted a local one! I would like to catch an upcoming meeting depending on schedule. Thanks for posting this event!
About me: I am a new real estate investor in Class B/C apartments, 8 to 50 units. I am looking to learn and network. Look forward to meeting you.

Shelly - thanks for your reply. I wasn't monitoring the BP site so I haven't chimed back in.
I agree with your reasons. I am looking at a 10-unit purchase (5 duplexes). The are early 1980's construction - nice compact and orderly site. While I haven't been inside one of them yet, they seem like a perfect property to remodel / upgrade to something that serves the needs you noted above. I especially find #3 above interesting - home health care access. As part of it, you bring up renting bedrooms instead of units. It seems somewhere between independent retirement living and assisted living. I don't much about either, so I'm in learning mode.
I think part of my plan will be to connect with someone already in that industry (in Oregon) who can advise me on an affordable but efficient remodel plan to have the accessibility and home health care services needed.
Thanks again...

I am interested in the market for handicap accessible apartments or duplexes. I am thinking of buying Class C one story garden apartments or duplexes and remodeling them into handicap accessible units. This seems like a great value add that would bring a higher rent ~ maybe another $100/month (or more) above a normal market rent for a 2BR 1BA unit. This seeems to be an un-explorered niche in Oregon. Thoughts?
