Hi Rilicia!

I am also reading and gathering all the info that I need to take the first step. There are so many great articles from BRANDON TURNER and other members here on BiggerPockets.

These articles here helped me a lot so far (I'll post the links below). But I am only interested in rentals and will be hiring a property manager :) Too bad you're not close to me!

Good Luck!

Liz

Hello BiggerPockets Family!

My name is Elizabete and I am a real estate agent (part time) in MA and RI. My full time job is a field applications scientist for a biotech company located in California.

I have been in the real estate market for 2 years and truly enjoy it.

I always wanted to own rental properties, multifamily units, single family homes yet get STUCK in the minutiae! Do many get a conventional 30 year loan and pay it every month with the excess rent money? How do you get ahead with more properties that way?

If you have someone that wants to invest in a home with you to flip how do you go about that? If you are the agent and they are the laborer.

Do you operate as an LLC, LC or corporation? Tax implications.

I have looked at my local REIA and will be attending that meeting next month.

I am hoping to learn more through you all that have experience. I will share everything and anything that I know.

If you want to know Hockey or soccer or microbiology or flow cytometry or how painful an online MBA program is, I can help you with that!

Thank you!

Liz

I feel that any meeting, no matter what it is, is an opportunity to learn something.

I am a skeptic and was very skeptical going in to a Rich Dad, Poor Dad Free seminar. So since I knew I was walking into a free seminar that will attempt to sell me something at the end, I chose to listen and key in on any term(s) that I was unfamiliar with. Wrote them down and made a note to research it on my own after.

Since then, I have attended a lot of their free webinars with the same mentality.

Think of it this way: they just made a free networking event just for you! :

Hi Jeff!

I'm new to the site as well. I have only just recently learned of their podcasts (which I'm downloading now). I know that I cannot be of much help to you since I too am trying to start investing. I am a real estate agent in MA and RI, but would love to learn as much as you do and am also near Boston. Maybe we can work together someday.

Hi Michael!

I am glad that you announced your lurking because that's what I have been doing for a while too!

I am a realtor and want to get into REI in my area in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

I am lost with the how. Would you mind if I ask you how did you buy the rental property that you have? Mortgage? Do you use the positive rental $ (after paying mortgages, taxes, insurances, management etc) towards the mortgage of the property? How then would you buy another one?

I guess I'm afraid of pulling the trigger :)

I hope I didn't offend and hope to speak with you!

Thank you!

Liz

Hi Tony!

I'm a newbie to this site. Have you had any luck with the wholesaling? I hope to talk with you about it. Thanks!
