I think the area I’ve been looking at is probably more desirable, but the problem is if I spend the same money there, the house I’d end up with wouldn’t be great and it’d be in a rough part of town. That usually means more repairs and higher chances of tenant issues compared to buying in a cheaper place where I could get a nicer property.

@Tiffanie Figueroa I was thinking if I ever need to go there to fix something it would be more convenient. And it would be my first one and being close would be better do you not think it would

I want to get into real estate but my area that I live in is too expensive. Is it a bad idea to buy a house an hour and a half away for my first house or should I just buy a house for $150,000 more and buy within 30 minutes of me?
