My husband and I also own a couple properties in Greensboro and hoping to slowly grow our rental portfolio. We have been looking in the Appalachian area (NC side) to expand beyond the Triad area as well. Would love to connect!
I believe there are meet ups with the local Triad REIA ( https://www.triadreia.org/ ) that has regular meet ups.

We own (2) 2Bds 1 bath in the Greensboro area and have always had a strong market for LTR with our rentals. We moved one LTR rental to a midterm rental for traveling nurses in the area and we have been successful finding tenants for that strategy as well.

We own a STR in Greensboro. They are currently in the process (within Greensboro city limits) to have permits required with some guidelines for operating a STR within Greensboro. See the website for their proposed guidelines. It is still in the early process.
