Post: Should I sign a exclusive deal with the RE AGRNT

If you're worried about signing a long term exclusivity agreement, you could always ask the agent to reduce the length (30 days instead of 365) or ask them what their policy is for canceling the agreement if you realize it's not a right fit. I know some agents offer the option to cancel the contract pretty much at any time if the client decides it's not working. Now....if you cancel and sign with another agent and buy a house that the first agent showed you, that starts to change the calculus...

@Chris Mills Interesting! Do you mind if I ask if your airbnb(s?) is also a primary residence or a fully separate property? And what area is it located in? That makes sense to have your processes, specifically tied to cleaning and sanitation, in tip top shape for the long run rather than during the pandemic. I agree that people's perspectives will likely shift as a result of 2020.

Hi everyone! For all of my airbnb'ers in DC (specifically thinking of DC proper and MD/VA immediately surrounding DC), what has the impact of the pandemic been on your bookings/revenue? And do you anticipate the impact changing anytime soon? I ask because I've been thinking of finding a house that could be used as an airbnb (either primarily or secondarily) and am curious how the pandemic has affected business.

Where is the property? If it's in Maryland (maybe DC too?), Mike Baker at HomeTeam is really great. He let my last buyer tag along and ask all sorts of questions. Send me a PM if you'd like an email introduction. As the person said, I would also recommend reaching out to your agent for his or her ideas.

@Topher McLarty awesome! Welcome to a new adventure!

@Doug W. might be a good person to talk to for flips. I've talked to him a few times about flipping and he's got a pretty good system in northern VA.

@Topher McLarty what kinds of deals are you looking to do (flips? Brrrs? Buy and hold? Others not listed?)? That might help inform who you’ll want to connect with :)

@Mary Arobaga-Reardon look at some of the posts from @Joseph Asamoah. The headaches from section 8 tenants don’t have to be as bad if you do your screening right (similar to any other rental property).

@Kevin Le and how much are you hoping to find from an investor vs your own money? And what’s your track record?
