@Luke Carl- it definitely is a tough market especially with all the regulation stuff going on but being an owner occupied property will hopefully help. It's our attempt at house hacking again that if STR doesn't work out at least we have a SFH with LTR possibility on the beach in San Diego. Between FB, ND and BP the support for property managers and investors is awesome. Makes me happy to be doing this now instead of 15 years ago.

@Ben Capone thank you so much for the recommendation. We just have small stuff to get done now to get it rented but want good people in our circle for future things. The OB community has been so great ever since we initially moved here that it’s no surprise people never leave.

Hi!! My husband and I just closed on a property in Ocean Beach, San Diego with an apartment that we plan to STR. We are looking to start connecting with people in the area for contacts with reliable and honest handymen and cleaners. We're still figuring out the best tools to automate the STR with keypads and cleaning platforms etc but would love any advice or recommendations.

If anyone wants to meet up for a peanut butter shot we'd love to connect with fellow investors in the area!

Hi @Scott Stewart and @Dennis Yosco! My husband and I have a property by Watsessing Park and one by the college. Both are doing really well. We are currently located on the west coast so we are only looking for turn key places since our previous renovations took forever! We have amazing property managers in the area and wouldn’t shy away from another deal in that area. It’s been really good to us.

@Mauricio Arroyo - Hi! I'd love the name of a great realtor in the area! My husband and I have been in contact with an agent and didn't love the vibe so we are looking for someone else.  Thanks so much!!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the Joshua Tree market and wanted to know if anyone thinks the market is too saturated for STRs, primarily in twentynine palms area. The year lease income doesn't justify the housing market but the STR potential definitely does. I've spoken to a couple of people, realtors mostly, who say it would be difficult to break into now considering the housing prices.

Is anyone seeing a decrease in their occupancy or their nightly rate outside of seasonal changes or anticipate it within the next 12 months?  Feeling frustrated but also thinking deep down that the influx of travelers and weekenders to JT won't slow down anytime soon.  I plan on reaching out to a couple property management companies as well so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know!

@Vincent Gambin- Any luck finding a contractor/handyman in the area? I am just starting my deep dive into the area (I know I'm about 5 years too late).  Are you using a property manager or managing it yourself.  Thanks so much
