Does anyone have any experience or recommendation With this problem. I am considering making an offer on some occupied properties at auction. The purchase details state that once the transaction is complete, it will be up to the buyer to remove the occupants. I am aware of the legal and judicial avenues involving eviction, but these are costly and can drag out leaving hard feelings on both sides. Is there an alternative option that someone can recommend that has been used with some success?

thank you Cale. I may be calling you for some advice. Sounds like you have done some rehab projects before.

Thank you Paul. Already have and read J. Scott's book on flipping houses. You are correct it is a great read. I especially appreciate the advice on how to find local REIA club meetings.

Thank you for your response. Last night while searching for other BP members in my area, your profile actually caught my eye as a result of both realtor and residential building experience. From your description it also seems our long term goals are somewhat aligned through rehabing and the purchase of buy and hold rentals. I would love to chat with you at your earliest convenience. What's a good time for you?

Luke thank you for your post. As someone new to the real estate profession, I fully intend to make use of those training materials as you suggest. I look at BP as an investment in my new career which I know will pay off in multiple dividends later down the road. To you success.

Hello All,
Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member to the biggerpockets community. I am a former environmental, safety and health professional of 27 years in the process of a career change. I am new to the real estate profession and have chosen to focus my initial efforts on the purchase and rehab of distressed properties. I have taken a few online courses and read a number of books and have a general understanding as to how the process should work. My next step will be the building my team through vetting of investor-friendly real estate agents and general contractors.
I was born and raised in the state of West Virginia, but primarily educated in Ohio universities, which included the University of Cincinnati and the Ohio State University. My family and I are presently residing in a town near Aiken SC which has a long history as a horse-loving community. Aiken is about 50 miles west of Columbia. For the golfing fans out there, perhaps another geographical reference point will do. We are about 20 minutes away from Augusta GA, which many of you probably know hosts the Masters tournament in April every year. It's a real big deal around here!
Like most everyone else, my primary reason for joining this organization is to network with other like-minded individuals from whom I can learn and make a friend or colleague. I look forward to the opportunity to speak with many of you.
Warm Regards,
Erik
