I think it depends on the person, but I don't think it has to be a deal breaker.  For some people who have families, it is important to be in a good school zone.  But some people don't have or plan on having a family, so a good school zone would be irrelevant.  I would recommend just analyzing the deal, and if the numbers make sense, go for it.

Hello BP family,

I have never really invested in SC and am not very familiar.  I am looking at a duplex and wanted to know if anyone had any experience in the state.  Is it a landlord-friendly state and how are the taxes too?  Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hello BP, I have a question about creating an LLC. I am starting an LLC with my wife and father in law, but we currently have houses in our names that we would like to transfer to the LLC. What would be the best route to accomplish this without having to pay crazy taxes? Thanks!

Hello BP, I am relatively new to real estate investing and now am really looking to dive in!  I currently am working on a second rehab project and want to do a short term rental on the property.  I really joined the BP community to get advice and gain knowledge from likeminded people.  Look forward to getting involved and contributing to these forums.

Post: Looking for input on Water Leak Detectors

Hello, I am currently rehabbing a house and eventually doing a short term rental with the house.  The issue is that we had a worker leave an open faucet overnight and now we are concerned about possible issues with high water bills and future leaks.  I have been looking at water leak detectors and wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this and what recommendations they have on detectors.

Thanks,

Esteban Valverde
