Thank you for your response. I agree that staying within driving distance would definitely make things simpler. Properties are pretty expensive where I live but I will try to look into areas that might be a bit of a drive but still easier than a plane ride. Thank you. I do like the house hacking idea but again, I'd have to move to a different area in order for the price to be worth it. I'd still consider it though for the future.

Any specific areas that have a good market now that you'd recommend?

My name is Esther. I'm from Rockland County, NY. I'm new to the real estate field and I've been doing research and listening to lots of podcasts to learn more about real estate investing. I'd like to start with a single family home long term rental. It's quite overwhelming to figure out which areas to look at since there are so many options out there! I'd love to hear which towns/states would be best to look into for single family home investing.
