Thanks all for the warm welcome. Regarding the Decatur area, it's tough. You're in a really nice neighborhood on one street and a neighborhood with five squad cars and gun violence on the next. The best thing to do is get out and drive. That said, Avondale Estates is up and coming/nice. It can be pricey (averages of $300-$600K depending) but it's an older area so there are good flip opportunities. North Decatur borders Emory and southern Chamblee so you can have lots of college and middle class tenants there. I'll be sure to connect with everyone who mentioned it. Today's my first day posting so I'm very new to the forums and I'm yet to invest. Thanks all!

Thanks Chris. Any words of wisdom for the Atlanta market?

Hi all, I'm a new member and future investor from Atlanta. A buddy introduced me to the podcast in December and I've listened almost every day since (podcast 88 as of this morning's drive to work) I'm planning to jump into a hybrid buy and hold/flipping investment plan once the wife and I save enough money for us to be comfortable with the risk and when I find a good first opportunity - actively looking now! Thanks to a large family/friend network, I have informal networks in Knoxville, Atlanta, Montgomery AL, Birmingham AL, and Tuscaloosa AL. All of this is area knowledge and friendly faces only; no investments yet. Glad to meet y'all! I look forward to learning everything I can and maybe helping some other folks out.
