Hello Bigger Pockets community,
I am at a crossroads. I have almost completed my real estate license course and I'm wondering if having my license will delay my investing. In Oregon, for the first three years my principle broker needs to oversee all my real estate transactions including those that are for personal gain. Are there principle brokers out there that are willing to work with an investor? Does having your license hinder investing in any other ways besides this one?
Ideally I would like to work for a principle who does not mind me investing in addition to selling real estate. Best case scenario would be that they didn't even mind me doing creative financing such as "subject to" deals, but I do not know if that is even possible. Any advice would be very appreciated.
Thank you, Samantha

Hello BiggerPockets Community,
We are currently looking for investment properties in the Eugene/Springfield area for a friend and would love some extras eyes on the market. If you are able to find a deal and bring it to us, we are willing to split half of our share. We are beginner investors who are ambitious to learn the Real Estate market. So any advice is also very appreciated. There is up to $40,000 in capital to invest in SF homes.
Thank you!

Hi everyone,
My name is Samantha Ferber. My partner, Bret Leake, and I wanted to introduce ourselves to the BP community. We are both new to REI in practice, but feel like we've read everything we could get our hands on over the last couple years. After finally coming across the BiggerPockets podcast and website, we saw the bigger picture. We are looking to network with other investors and entrepreneurs to build a scalable REI business.
We currently own a home and property maintenance (not management) business, Northwest Custom Yard & Home Care, LLC. Our business services almost 380 clients within the Manzanita, Nehalem, and Wheeler area on the north coast of Oregon. Bret is a licensed contractor with the Oregon Contractors Board. Ultimately the goal for this business is to become a full blown property management company servicing long term rentals in the Eugene/Springfield area.
I am formally educated in Biology and ran an education program for the City of Cannon Beach for several years. While working for a municipality, I learned a lot about the city planning process, zoning regulations, and development. I also gained an immense amount of experience with developing and managing budgets. Currently, I do all the administration and bookkeeping for our property maintenance business, and I serve as chair and fiduciary to a local non-profit. Through this work I have realized my passion for fiscal administration and operational systems. I am all about maximizing effectiveness and returns while limiting risk as much as possible!
Our goals on Bigger Pockets are to build our network with some of the leading professionals from around the United States and to learn from those who have extensive experience. In the next six months, we would like to have closed two deals. For now we are open to any opportunity whether it be a flip or a long-hold. Our long term goal is to build a portfolio of multifamily long-holds.
We look forward to hearing from and working with you guys in the future. If any of you find your way to the NW corner of Oregon, feel free to contact us. We love any opportunity to meet up and talk real estate.
Thank You,
Samantha Ferber & Bret Leake

Hi Xavier,
We are interested. Vernonia is not too far from us. What kind of "TLC" is needed and what do you estimate repair costs to be? Also, if you happen to have photos of the interior and exterior that would be great!

Saj and Ian,
My partner and I joined BP recently. We are in Nehalem, so the North Oregon Coast community is growing :) We are currently in the property maintenance business, maintaining over 360 second and first homes in the Nehalem/Manzanita area. We are fervently searching for our first investment property, and are very excited to get connected with other local investors.

Hello, My partner and I are new members of bigger pockets. We have been in learning mode for the last two years, but are now taking action. Pursuing deals and researching markets. We live on the coast and have looked at several neighbors from Portland to Eugene. We would love to attend your event to meet more people in this field. Thanks!
