My brother are thinking about buying a vacation property to Airbnb it. We both still live at home and have never bought property before. We plan on going 50/50 on the vacation property. Could one of us use the first time home buyer loan at 3% or would it have to be both of us using it?

@Harjeet Bhatti oh wow, interesting! Thanks!

@Harjeet Bhatti I’m sorry I don’t really understand. Do you mind explaining further? Thank you!

So I am just graduating college and through school I have not had a steady job and at times I was either not working or doing side gigs. I’ve always planned on purchasing a rental property once finished with school, but I know not having steady employment for 2 years can get in the way of qualifying for a loan. I have the money. Have any of you gone through this or have any suggestions or strategies?

Thanks!!

@Cody Barna hi! I was thinking about it but I was also thinking of just purchasing a rental property there for now. Luckily, I live in my parents house as they live in Florida now.
