Post: Birmingham Real Estate Attorney

Anyone have any recommendations for a real estate attorney near Birmingham, AL? Other parts of AL?

I have 7 rentals (some out of state) and an LLC (I formed online?) so it is time to get things in order for asset protection and estate planning. I would love to form a good working relationship with a specialized attorney rather then a general "I do it all" type.

Thanks!

Thank you all for the excellent comments! It is great to have other investors to discuss with. I'm going to talk to the wife tonight.

Thanks Max!

Ya, so I said no to there initial request of going month to month. They then hit me with being pregnant. They really are good tenants and even mentioned they would be willing to do a 6 month lease through December.

On one hand I don't want to be heartless to good tenants and make them move when they are 9-months pregnant or when they have a month old newborn.

On the other hand I promised myself that this is not a hobby, but is a business.

Thanks!

Hi all!

I have some wonderful tenants that are 1.5 years in a two year lease. The lease ends this June and they want to extend it monthly into the off-season of October at which time they are planning on moving out of state. I said no since it is hard to fill a vacancy between October and March in this college town. (Gainesville FL)

Anyway the tenants now say they are expecting a baby in July. This is my first rental property and I want to treat it like a business and stick to the lease cycling every summer. But some part of me is soft and I can't help but feel for these tenants who have always paid on time and only put in one repair request.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Hello my friends at Bigger Pockets!

I am starting a new investment property loan through Quicken Loans and I found out that at closing it is you get a coupon for $750 of f closing costs to give to away.

Has anyone received one of these coupons and is willing to share? I will be very grateful!

Thanks!
