@Jenene McDowell thanks for that information! I'm curious if there's anyone else here investing in Belair-edison and how has the experience been?
Jenene McDowell thanks for the info! Do you have any reservations about 2br/1ba or a smaller rowhome under 1000 sq ft? From what I understand, there are such limited 2br1ba section 8 houses, they are snatched up rather quickly.

@J.T. Littlejohn It's in the 3600 block on Kenyon Ave. Walking on that block it seemed very nice and family friendly. The closer to belair rd on the street i got, the less desirable the area became, but still not horrible.

@Jay DeCima No, the home is currently vacant. I forgot to mention it is actually a forclosusure assignment . The interest is $140 a month until the contract is ratified.

Hello,

I currently have a verbal offer in on a potential rental property in Baltimore. Specifically, belair-edison 21213. The house is  2br/1ba, 840 sqft with a finished basement. It is on a nice quiet block which appears to be mostly homeowners.

The house needs very little work to be rent ready. I plan to paint the cabinets put on some new hardware, update the appliances, gut the bathroom, repair the roof which looks like it could need some TLC , refinish the wood floors downstairs, carpet uptairs and paint the whole house. The utilities, while older, do seem to be working (has central AC).

Does anyone have experience with rentals in this area?

I have two questions:

1) What are your thoughts on a 2br/1ba for section 8?

2) I was estimating to recieve about $1250 a month, am I on point with that?

Thanks in advance!
