Yes these are known as daisy chain deals. Some “wholesalers” sit back and forward everyone else’s deal to make a cut. Pretty similar to what a buyer agent does if you think about it.

Very often you will reach out for a deal and it has already been sold or it takes several days to negotiate since there may be 2-4 parties involved (from my experience) that are all negotiation at once (i.e. bird dog/finder fee).

Get in the habit of asking wholesalers if they have the deal direct. This will save you a lot of time and help discourage the practice.

At the end of the day it’s not a huge deal. I usually just search for the address in my inbox and see who really has the lowest price
