Post: Quartz Countertop Issue

Hello,
I recently had quartz countertops installed in my kitchen and are showing long streak marks along the perimeter of the piece. We tried soap and water but it doesn't remove it.
Could this be a mark left by the fabricators tools used to cut the piece (it was a prefab piece but I'm still certain cuts were made)?
My contractor initially after install said we can have those buffed out but now he is saying it's a manufacturers error and have to pay a specialized trade to fix it.
My contractor also claimed that he went to the manufacturer and all their pieces in the color we bought had these markings but refused to rectify the situation. Whether this is true or not is undetermined. Prior to pick up of the tops I specifically requested my contractor to thoroughly check for any flaws, clearly he didn't if he is now claiming that all pieces had markings and were evident at that time. Can I hold my contractor liable for any of this? Especially for taking a product that he is claiming had known issues at the time of pickup?

Hi Troy, thanks for your response. We haven't got the HOA docs yet but have reached out regarding this issue.
The inspector made no mention of nearing failure, but can you really tell from just seeing the exterior of the pipe, not to mention areas the pipes run where access is not visible?

I am in escrow on a condo and our home inspection showed there is poly piping in the unit. Should this deter me from moving forward with the purchase? Should we ask the sellers to cover some cost to replace (very unlikely given market conditions here in sunny San Diego). Does anyone know what the cost could be to replace it's a 1000 sqf.
Thanks!

I am one day into escrow on a recently flipped town house and some major red flags have appeared:
1. An adjacent unit (shared common wall) had a major fire a few months back and is uninhabitable per the city. I learned today that the cause of the fire was faulty electrical wiring. Should the seller have to provide assurance that no shared electrical exists and all electrical in the flip has been updated to code?
2. Through further research I was able to speak with a current resident of the neighborhood who stated the unit in escrow was damaged by a flood from an adjacent unit. When I approached the sellers about this, they stated nothing was provided to them in the disclosures from original owner. Should the seller be responsible again for providing assurances that no mold or other issues exist due to this?
I know a general home inspection will not be able to detect such issues that could be behind the walls. At this point I am ready to pull out of the deal but unsure if next best steps.

Thanks Brian Eastman. What would be the range of required down payment % that these bank require?

Has anyone purchased a rental property using a self directed retirement account and had to finance the purchase? I am looking into this option and curious if banks are willing to offer financing?
