Thanks for your reply. I was assuming most would say multi unit apartments but I am glad to learn about self storage units.

Essentially is self storage units the entire business of a self storage business? And why would people prefer this over multiunit apartments?

thank you for all your answers. I will study storage units more as that seems to be the popular and common consensus here.

Thank you.

If you had 500k in equity/cash, what would you invest in next?

I bought a home years ago that now has 300k in equity but not sure what to do with it in terms of investing into other properties.

What are several options to do with this type of equity in southern california or out of state? Should I buy another single family home or can I get a multiunit somewhere? Where is place to find multiunits and is there any recommended management companies? Thank you.

Thank you for all your responses. Yes, I'm a newbie but many of your answers are helpful to continue learning more on this topic. Appreciate.

Do you focus on your state OR out of state real estate investing?

I live in southern california so the prices are quite high so just asking if you do out of state, what is a general consensus in terms of good states to invest in? Thank you.

Post: Real Estate Strategy for Beginners? (What is recommended?)

Hi,

I am a newbie when it comes to real estate investing.

What is the BEST recommended strategy to get into real estate investing? (I know 'best' is subjective but I want to hear everyone's thoughts and why they like their strategy & believe their strategy is the recommended for the long run.)

So far the most common one I know is to focus on sing family house, pay 20% down, and rent it out, and do it over and over again. (and possibly do a 1031 exchange for multiunts when you have more cash?)

What is the recommended model for people getting started for beginners who want to do this for the long run.

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm very new to real estate investing and very busy with my own business.

So I think it'd be better suited for me to invest through turnkey real estate investment companies that do the work for you.

Any good questions to ask them to find out what is good or bad?

And any well known or popular ones out there?

Thank you
BJ
