Post: Eviction for holdover tenancy

I have a tenant that is refusing to leave after the end of the lease. I plan to file eviction on them for holdover tenancy.

Am I able to accept rent payments during that time period? They are section 8, so it is a partial payment. I am afraid accepting those payments would reset the eviction proceedings.

So I have a tenant that I went over to give notice of non renewal to. They quit paying rent when they got the notice. Section 8 is still paying their portion though. Since the Virginia eviction moratorium ends 9/30/2021, is there any way I would be able to evict them before then? I am very concerned that the moratorium will get extended. Thank you to all who can help. Sadly I didn’t hire a property manager.
